Kalmia latifolia 'Ostbo Red' Mountain Laurel
Ostbo Red is a popular Kalmia as it has prolific red buds that open to pale pink flowers with a starlike ring in the throat of each bloom. This hybrid from Andre Ostbo has a proportional and somewhat dense growth habit, which makes it good for hedging, slopes and mass planting.
Ostbo Red grows to around 5' tall x 5' wide at maturity. We recommend full sun to partial sun. You will want to be sure to plant in well-draining soil, preferably acidic. Hardy to -15°F when protected from windchill.
